Squadron Training
Our primary training location is the Canadian Air and Space Museum, located on the west side of Dowsview Park in Toronto (Old RCAF/CFB Toronto/Downview).
The Squadron aims to train one day per month, in addition to any other engagements we have committed to.
Our training plan is set up in such a manner that it will educate our members in the day to day operations of the RCAF, in turn, enabling our members to further educate the public in a unique way. It also develops a typical re-enactor's impression to a much more realistic standard through education, discipline and challenge. Training as a squadron fosters esprit-de-corps and the motivation to succeed and improve.

New members may apply to become Officers or NCO's in either A Flight (Post-War impression), or B Flight (WWII impression).
Basic Course
Upon enrollment into the squadron, new members undergo a 6 day basic training course, spread out over a period of 6 months, from January - June. This course is conducted as closely as possible to original RCAF training, with some modification due to time and facility constraints.
Subjects covered are:
- Drill
- Basic Weapons Handling and Safety
- General Service Knowledge
- Air Environment and Safety
- Air Force History: WWI, WWII, Golden Years, Unification

Trades and Leadership Training
After basic training is complete, members are then streamed into their respective flights, and trades training begins. Much of this training is self study, but classroom and field training is provided as well. We are able to provide training on many of the ground and air support trades common to both the Second World War and Post-War. We have a large library of reference material and training plans, as well as knowledgable members, able to instruct on a wide variety of subjects.
Our members are appointed new rank by evaluation of time served with the Squadron, training completed and merit. As a member increases in rank and experience, they may be required to become leaders of a section, a flight sergeant, flight commander etc. As such, we provide leadership training courses to our NCO's and officers to ensure we maintain a staff that is capable of leading the rest of the Squadron effectively.
